Andre De Ruyter may have been poisoned after drinking a cup of coffee at Eskom headquarters in Sunninghill 

Eskom CEO André de Ruyter confirmed on News24 that he may have been poisoned after doctors found levels of cyanide in his blood in December last Year.

The incident comes after De Ruyter made the announcement On December 12, 2022, that he will be resigning as CEO of Eskom.

His own doctors informed him that in two tests done back-to-back a few days apart, his blood contained increased amounts of cyanide.

The future former Eskom chief executive, De Ruyter, told a news media outlet he had been drinking a cup of coffee in his office at the power utility’s headquarters in Johannesburg in November last year. He then felt unwell, and he started vomiting and shaking.

He was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for poisoning.
