While they were filming a music video, eight women were raped by twenty (20) armed men. A persistent and widespread epidemic of rape has wreaked havoc in South Africa. A group of about twenty (20) armed men raped eight women at the same time in bushes in Krugersdorp, in the province of Gauteng, in a country where rape is a relatively regular crime.
According to the South African police service, the gang carried out an attack on a production firm in Krugersdorp on Thursday while they were filming a music video.
The men allegedly fired several shots into the air before they ordered the victim to the ground and raped the eight women in nearby bushes. The attackers also stole the victims’ belongings.
The commissioner of police for the province, Elias Mawela has sent members of a special task team to investigate the rape of eight women in Krugersdorp and to find the perpetrators.
