Haa hoo lion song: The Limpopo man wants a profit share.

The elderly man who survived a lion attack in Limpopo, Johannes Gopane, seeks a share of the income from the “Haa hoo lion song.” Gopane stated in an interview with Thobela FM that he wished to share the money with the music producer. Gopane, who became famous for his interaction with a lion, said it was unfair that others were benefiting from his viral interview while he wasn’t. He even discovered that people used his face on t-shirts and his voice in the “Haa hoo lion song.”

“They should have approached me first and asked for my permission to use my face on the shirts and my voice on the song,” Gopane said. “For example, if the music producer received R3000 from the song, I should have gotten R1000 something.”

The 70-year-old man from the village of Marumofase told South Africans what to do if they saw a lion. “Don’t run away if you bump into a lion. You must face it head-on, stand still, and don’t turn your back on it. A lion can also eat its owners, so don’t run, because if you run, it will eat you alive.”

Since the viral “Haa hoo lion song” interview with the SABC, people have been asking to take pictures and videos with the brave Limpopo man. Gopane’s wish is simple: a share in the profits from the “Haa hoo lion song” that made him an overnight sensation.
