South African man sentenced to five years for impregnating his 14-year-old daughter
A man who impregnated his teenage daughter after having sex with her has been sentenced to five years in prison.
The 37-year-old man, who cannot be named, was convicted of incest for having sexual intercourse with his 14-year-old daughter, at his home in early year of 2019.
The girl’s mother had noticed her daughter was gaining weight and taking on a ‘chubby’ appearance. She decided to take her to a doctor who discovered she was indeed pregnant.
The man had pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual exploitation and one count of child abuse after his arrest in 2019.
In addition to the prison sentence, the man’s name would be added to the National Sexual Offender’s Register. DNA tests confirmed the man was the father.
