André de Ruyter resigns as Eskom chief executive
De Ruyter was appointed as Eskom’s chief executive in 2021. He resigned today after a series of public attacks on him led by Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe, and Gordhan’s and President Cyril Ramaphosa’s subsequent failure to publicly support him and his management.
