Bloemfontein, 19 february 2024 – In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, Mzimani Andries Mqoqi, the former CENTLEC CEO and owner of Kofifi Lifestyle Tavern in Bloemfontein, was shot and killed by an unidentified assailant in Bergman Square. The brazen attack, caught on CCTV, unfolded as former CENTLEC CEO Mqoqi engaged in a conversation with a friend in Bergman Square,Bloemfontein.

The distressing footage, widely circulated online, captures a seemingly ordinary moment turned deadly. Mqoqi, standing with what appears to be a friend, is approached by a man wearing a white t-shirt, black pants, and a hat. The assailant nonchalantly walks past them before abruptly turning and firing multiple shots at Mqoqi. His friend, who managed to escape the gunfire, fled the scene unharmed.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing the gunfire and seeing Mqoqi collapse to the ground. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene, but tragically, Mqoqi succumbed to his injuries.
